Demoiselle Crane

The demoiselle crane is the National Level II Protected Animal and is the smallest one in crane family. Its name, demoiselle crane, is derived from its feathers being just like the straw rain cape in ancient time. It is also called “Anthropoides Virgo” for its timid habit, elegant manner, just like a well bred girl from a noble family.
