Red - Crowned Crane


In China, Korea and Japan, people usually like to draw red -crowned cranes together with the upright and vigorous aged pines as a symbol of long life. Actually, the fairy crane in the legend actually refers to the red -crowned crane. It is a kind of large wading bird that lives in swamp or shallow water area, and people usually call it the “God of Wetland”. According to the statistics, the total number of the wild red -crowned cranes in the world is only about 2000, among which about 700 are in China, which accounts for about 60% of the total. It has been listed in the National Level 1 Protected Animal.
